violin concert and stuff

yesterday was violin concert.great milestone in history of violin department, being the first purely violin concert:D I was looking forward to this concert haha.
i find it really ironic why i feel more tense & nervous before playing in a masterclass than before this concert itself, though the first is a solo piano while the latter is accompaniment. I guess that made a lot of difference.

Backstage was FUN. haha as usual, despite the lameness x)
i think Scottish Fantasy by Bruch is a really nice piece, and Selena's rendition was quite well done in my opinion. She had stage presence, which made all the difference, and the natural flair to perform i think. the 'very good' sec one violinists next year x) Ok besides the performance, the piece. I tend to prefer pieces that allows showmanship and showcase of technique, but at the same time peppered with emotional, 'thought-provoking' parts as well. This piece happens to fall in this category, together with the Franck A major sonata for piano and violin, and my Smetana one((:

Talk about Singapore's nightlife. the night before after masterclass me and my family went to Cathay Cineplex to watch The Guardian. The cineplex and the vast area surrounding it was teeming with people, especially teenagers (despite the eleven oclock rule), and fast forward to after the movie, which was AFTER midnight, the area was so packed that i almost didn't realise it was mignight already. Some time ago readers digest (or some other media) said the Singapore's nightlife is ranked 2nd in the world, even beating countries like the U.S., only eclipsed by Italy (i think x)) haha so it was true afterall, to some extent. The Guardian is a really nice movie! made me really touched, and think about sacrificing and treasuring people around me. very worth the time and money((: especially the part when Randall fell into the open sea..it was so sad, to put it simply.
